CASE STUDY 09
A technology company that needed to generate revenue and profit after investment reassessed its market and business model and established a reference framework it could continue to use.
Client Context
Receiving investment does not automatically guarantee sales and profit. After investment, technology-based companies need to decide even more clearly which markets to focus on, which customer value propositions to prioritize, and what to build into their revenue model.
Transformation Design
Through Chungbuk TP’s technology commercialization support program, The Innovation Lab worked with a semiconductor technology company to review its market, business model, and current issues. Rather than offering fragmented advice on individual problems, we focused on examining the current business model as a whole and identifying the bottlenecks preventing it from generating revenue and profit.
Changes in Decision-Making · Action
The company’s CEO said that although the company had received substantial investment, it urgently needed to generate revenue and profit, and that the program was highly valuable in reviewing the overall market and business model. The CEO also said the coaching report would continue to serve as a reference document. This case went beyond providing external advice: it left the executive with a framework for repeatedly reviewing subsequent decisions.
